Outstanding data for 2007: 49,492 tonnes collected. Bizkaia beats its own record
• The total amount of waste products collected in the Garbigunes of Bizkaia in 2007 was 49,492 tonnes, 10.52% more than in 2006, with a 26% increase in terms of the amounts collected via these centres in 2005. This figure also means a 41.3% increase relative to the waste products received at these centres in 2004, 43.7% in terms of 2003 and 71.6% in terms of 2002.
• Since the first Garbigune was opened on 14th April, 1997 until 31st December 2007 last, 283,463 tonnes have been deposited at these points.
• Since 14th April 1997, when the first selective collection centre was opened in Basauri, until December 2007, the total number of users of the Garbigunes has been 1,751,939.
